Subject: NO VOTE ON IRAQ MILITARY INTERVENTION Without UN Security Council Multilateral Action AND/OR WITHOUT US
CONGRESS DECLARATION OF WAR !!!
Justification
Summary:
- Unneccesary (No
imminent danger even per CIA assessment)
- Unlawful (Since no
imminent danger then Congress should step up to the bar and consider a
declaration of War per US Constitution—which I hope you would be against
if no further information is forthcoming)
- Against the spirit if
not letter of International law (under Bush’s “pre-emptive doctrine” Iraq
would certainly be justified in a pre-emptive strike against the US-a
suicidal action--- so when did having the “bigger stick” justify legality
or not ?
- UnAmerican:
Fascist.Even the consideration makes me ashamed. I now know how the good
German citizen felt during the Nazi era.
- Dinsingenuous: Obvious
to me that the mantra of eliminating WMD is being used to maneuver the UN
and IRAQ into situation justifying a regime change by military means.
Preventing a strong economic and military IRAQ (even without WMD) is true
objective to support American energy supply policy and prop up the outlaw
state Israel. Let’s not sink to their level.
- Counterproductive in
Long term: Makes a strong statement to Muslin countries that western law
only applies to those with a big enough stick to demand their rights. That
plays to strong incentives to develop WMD and terrorism. This is even true
in best scenario where we runover IRAQ similar to Gulf War!
- Give Senator Byrd your
support in his heroic efforts to reaffirm the American way! The
Constitutional way! The Legal Way! The Wise way!!
